HUBUNGAN ANTARA SELEKSI JALUR MASUK DAN KEPRIBADIAN TERHADAP PRESTASI AKADEMIK MAHASISWA PENDIDIKAN DOKTER FKIK UMY
Abstract
Background: Faculty of medicine is a faculty that has always been a favorite of
designate students. Admission selection of medical faculty required a proper
selection method in order to predict the academic achievement that will be
produced. At Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta, the selection is divided
into achievement lane, CBT, PBT Partnership and Regular PBT. In each lane will
be done by a personality tests. This research is needed to see the correlation of
university entry selection and students personality to academic achievement
especially to know what dimension of personality that is influential.
Method: This research is descriptive correlational with research design using
cross sectional that done by 213 samples. The sample was obtained from students
2010, 2011 and 2012 classes that meet the criteria of inclusion and exclusion.
Data obtained from the Education Server of FKIK UMY which is analyzed by
using correlation test Chi-Square and Spearman.
Result: There is a correlation between university entry selection to academic
achievement with Asymp.Sig value of 0,043. Besides, the correlation between
personality to academic achievement are GPA 60,9%, exam score 57,1%,and
frequency remediation 45,5%. The dimensions that affect on GPA and exam score
are conscientiousness while the dimension that affect the frequency of
remediation is agreeableness.
Conclusion: In this research, there is a correlation between university entry
selection and personality toward academic achievement. The dimensions of
personality that affect academic achievement are conscientiousness and
agreeableness.
