HUBUNGAN ANTARA KEPATUHAN MINUM OBAT DENGAN GEJALA KLINIS PASIEN SKIZOFRENIA
Abstract
Schizophrenia is a setlling serious neurobiological brain disease, characterized by abnormal cognitive, perceptual, and affective. This disease is chronic and require long-term treatment. Various factors can affect medication adherence of schizophrenic patients. The adherence leads to a decrease in clinical symptoms in skizophrenic patients. The good level of medication adherence can reduce the recurrence of schizophrenic patients and decrease the patient's clinical symptoms.This study aims to determine the relationship between medication adherence with clinical symptoms of patients with schizophrenia in the community.
Methods
This study used observational analytic with cross sectional design. This study was conducted from May-June 2016 in eight health centers, namely Puskesmas Wates Yogyakarta, Puskesmas Bambanglipura, Puskesmas Sleman Godean, Puskesmas Gondomanan, Puskesmas Gendangsari, Puskesmas Kraton, Puskesmas Srandakan, Puskesmas Temon, Puskesmas Tempel, Puskesmas Playen. Subjects were patients with schizophrenia outpatients who were in the region of 8 health centers. The number of subjects of this study is 69 patients with schizophrenia in the D.I.Yogyakarta Province. This study used questionnaires PANSS (Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale) and MMAS questionnaires (Morisky Modification adherence Scale).
Results
The results of the analytical test by using Spearman correlation, showed no association between medication adherence with clinical symptoms of schizophrenia using Spearman's test got p value 0.141.
Conclusion
There is no relationship between medication adherence with clinical symptoms of skzofrenia patients where the value of p = 0.141.
