dc.description | Background: The increasing rate of crime that happen in Indonesia causes judge decision taken by the law enforcer become crucial. The decision-making process is based on some considerations from the evidence. Visum et Repertum become an evidence of the legitimate expert’s statement and can be considered for the judge decision, however, Visum in Indonesia is still poor in quality. The poor quality of living Visum et Repertum is caused by many factors such as the lack of medicolegal experts which leads to it has to be taken over by doctors who do not really grasp the aspect of medicolegal as well as prioritize clinical aspect rather than medicolegal aspect. The poor quality of living Visum et Repertum can also be caused by the absence of fixed guidelines in every hospital regarding the writing of Visum et Repertum which makes the doctors only referring to the books made by forensic experts in peer group.
Method: This research is an observational research using the Retrospective Descriptive Approach towards the data of living Visum et Repertum in PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta Hospital and court report in Bantul State Court. The samples of the research were taken using the total sampling technique in the form of living Visum et Repertum in PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta Hospital and court report from 2015-2017. The instrument and data analysis were using the Herkutanto scoring method (2005).
Result: The number of the samples for the research was 79 in total with 18 data from 2015, 40 data from 2016 and 21 data from 2017. The 21 data from 2017 will be scored using Herkutanto scoring. The result showed that the average quality of Visum et Repertum in 2017 in PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta Hospital is sufficient (73%) and the Visum et Repertum is seen as beneficial for the court based on the written record of the judge decision.
Conclusion: The quality of living Visum et Repertum in PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta Hospital in 2017 is sufficient and the Visum et Repertum is beneficial in the court. | en_US |
