| dc.description | The research carried out on the transgender people in Non- Government Organization of Keluarga Besar Waria Yogyakarta (LSM Kebaya) aims at finding out the self- concept of the transgender people in LSM Kebaya and the factors that influence the self- concept. The research used qualitative approach with data collection techniques including in-depth interview, observation, and documentation. The researcher took 3 respondents. The results are: 1) The transgender people in LSM Kebaya have various self- concepts. They state that what they do is coming from their conscience and sincerely done without being forced. Being transgender is a gift from God that has to be accepted. Therefore, their opinion related to what they do is a common thing. Transgender people have changed their appearance to be like women, but they do not change what God has given. Some of them perform prayer as their nature. Being transgender makes the subject can socialize instead. The transgender people in LSM Kebaya keep educating and holding social activities that involve the society. The support from the family is a motivation for the transgender. 2) The factors that influence the self- concept are the parenting way, level of the parents’ religiosity, economic background, environment, role model, physical appearance, identity, how to behave, and perception towards God. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Penelitian dilakukan kepada waria yang berada di Lembaga Swadaya Masyarakat Keluarga Besar Waria Yogyakarta (LSM Kebaya) ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana konsep diri waria yang ada di LSM Kebaya dan faktor apa saja yang mempengaruhi Konsep Diri tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, teknik pengumpul data meliputi wawancara mendalam, pengamatan atau observasi, dan dokumentasi. Peneliti mengambil sebanyak 3 responden. Adapun hasilnya adalah:1) Waria di LSM Kebaya mempunyai konsep diri yang bervariasi. Waria menilai bahwa apa yang dilakukan merupakan sesuatu yang berasal dari hati nurani dan dilakukan suka rela tanpa paksaan. Menjadi waria merupakan pemberian oleh Tuhan yang harus dijalani. Untuk itu, penilaian waria terkait apa yang dilakukannya ialah hal wajar. Waria telah merubah tampilan layaknya perempuan, namun tidak merubah apa yang telah Allah berikan. Ada yang menjalankan ibadah sesuai dengan kodratnya. Menjadi waria justru membuat subjek bisa bersosialisasi. Waria di LSM Kebaya terus mengedukasi dan mengadakan kegiatan sosial yang melibatkan masyarakat didalamnya. Dukungan dari kelarga sebagai motivasi bagi waria. 2) Faktor yang mempengaruhi konsep diri ialah pola asuh orang tua, tingkat religiusitas orang tua, latar belakang ekonomi, lingkungan, role model, tampilan fisik, identitas, cara beprilaku, penilaian terhadap perilaku, serta pandangan terhadap Tuhan mempengaruhi konsep diri. | en_US |
