Abstract
This study discusses the role of the Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Center (MDMC) in carrying out the social-psychological recovery of the victims of the Sunda Strait Tsunami disaster in Banten. The results of this study indicate that MDMC has a major role in carrying out social-psychological recovery efforts for disaster victims and also succeeded in carrying out its role as a Disaster Management Institution based on Islamic values as evidenced by its intervention which mostly uses God-based approaches, such as tausiyah and collective dzikr. There are approximately ± 15,988 people who have benefited from the activities carried out by MDMC. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors are lack of energy, time, distance and human resources, and also the lack of facilities that support the activities. This research used a qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, conversations, and documentation. The data analysis was carried out in the field as a preliminary conclusion and also pre-field as a final conclusion.
