PERAN PEKERJA SOSIAL DALAM MENANGANI KORBAN KEKERASAN SEKSUAL REMAJA DI BALAI PERLINDUNGAN DAN REHABILITASI SOSIAL WANITA (BPRSW) YOGYAKARTA
Abstract
This study aims to describe the role of social workers in handling adolescent survivors of sexual violence and to explain the handling process itself the governmental center for women's social protection and rehabilitation named Balai Perlindunan dan Rehabilitasi Sosial Wanita (BPRSW) in Yogyakarta. This study uses a qualitative approach. The research location is in the BPRSW. The subjects of this study were social workers, chairman of BPRSW, psychologists, and BPRSW’s clients. The sampling technique used in the research is purposive sampling. The object of the research is the role of social workers in handling the adolescent survivors of sexual violence in BPRSW. The data collection techniques are interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the study show that the role of social workers in handling adolescent survivors of sexual violence are enabler that understands and raise awareness about problems faced by clients; broker or facilitators for clients; experts that provide assistance, support, advice and motivation for clients; social planner for clients; advocates who help clients in resolving issues related to law; and educators or educators. The social workers at BPRSW Yogyakarta are able to implement the roles well in providing services to adolescents survivors of sexual violence and help them to continue their lives better. The handling process in dealing with adolescents survivors of sexual violence carried out by BPRSW Yogyakarta social workers are home visits, health checks, mental health checks conducted by psychologists, counseling, skills guidance, reproductive counseling, religious guidance, and work placement.
