PENGALAMAN KESIAPSIAGAAN PERAWAT DALAM PENATALAKSANAAN ASPEK PSIKOLOGIS AKIBAT GEMPA BUMI DI RUMAH SAKIT JIWA MUTIARA SUKMA PROVINSI NUSA TENGGARA BARAT
Abstract
Background: Earthquakes will have psychological impacts such as trauma, difficulties and conflicts with victims. During the past 2 years, nurses at the Mutiara Sukma Mental Hospital in West Nusa Tenggara Province only conducted 2 times emergency earthquake training, while still in the form of first aid training in emergency care made by nurses, only 5 people were available. besides that, first aid training on the psychological has never been done, and even then it was done when post-disaster occurred.
Objective: To explore the experience of nurse preparedness in the management of psychological aspects after the earthquake disaster.
Method: This type of research is a qualitative study with a phenomenological approach to research design. Data was collected by in-depth interview method then analyzed based on the themes that emerged. The number of samples is 5 participants, namely nurses who have experience and have participated in earthquake disaster management training, especially in the management of psychological aspects.
Results: In this study, 4 themes were produced, namely (a) being a good listener, consisting of 2 categories including therapeutic communication, and responding to krban complaints and family (b) understanding the wishes of the victims, which consisted of 3 categories including transparency, uniting perceptions and looking for solutions to shared problems, (c) improving social relations, which consists of 2 categories including facilitating emotional relationships with loved ones and doing fun activities, (d) psychological management consisting of 3 categories including preparing psychological therapy, counseling and psychotherapy.
Conclusion: Being a good listener and considering victim assistance carried out by nurses in resolving victims' psychological problems and improving social relations can support nurses to carry out psychological management of disaster victims.
