PERAN GURU DALAM MENANAMKAN KARAKTER DISIPLIN PADA ANAK USIA DINI DI TPA-KB-TK IT NURUL ITTIHAD GAMPING
Abstract
This study aims to determine (1) the role of teachers in inculcating discipline character among early age students of TPA-Nurul Ittihad IT-TK-TK Gamping, (2) learning methods employed by the teachers in the inculcation. (3) The manifestations of discipline characters among the early age students at TPA-KB-TK IT Nurul Ittihad Gamping.
This research is a field research with a qualitative description approach. The objects of study are the Principal and the homeroom teachers of TPA-Nurul Ittihad IT-TK-TK Gamping. The data collection techniques are interview, observation and documentation. The collected data then analyzed using Miles and Huberman model.
The results of this study are (1) The roles of the teacher in inculcating discipline character among the students of TPA-KB-TK IT Nurul Ittihad Gamping are classified into four roles, namely the role of the teachers as educators, the role of the teachers as mentors, the role of the teachers as advisors, and the role of the teacher as role models. (2) The learning methods used in the inculcation of discipline character are giving lecture, practicing method, storytelling, and giving rewards. (3) The manifestations of early childhood discipline among the students of TPA-KB-TK IT Nurul Ittihad Gamping including greeting their teachers with before leaving school, attending morning apples to prepare themselves before entering classroom, putting their belongings on the place that has been provided, disposing trash in trashcans, actively following all the learning activities, always asking permission before eating their meals in a classroom or going to the bathroom, queuing in morning snack preparation, queuing in entering classrooms
