This research discusses the thought of Ibn Khaldun about the price mechanism and its relevance to the state of the current price mechanism, with the purpose to know the thoughts of Ibn Khaldun is related to the price mechanism. In addition this research also reveals whether or not the relevance between Ibn Khaldun’s thought with the state of the current price mechanism. The type of this research is a library research using historical approach and sociological approach. The data on this research are analyzed using content analysis and descriptive. From the research that has been done shows that the mechanism of the price at the time of Ibn Khaldun created by the request and offer is based on the number of people living in a region. According to the Ibn Khaldun price occurred naturally, without the manipulation of the government. He said that if the government intervene in the determination of the price, then will lead to the imbalance in the market price. Next, in this research found the relevance between the thought of Ibn Khaldun with current price mechanism. This is shown by the creation of price by the strength and demand, costs affect prices and price regulation by the government in the normal market affect the balance of the price.
