DAYA INSULIN MIMIK INFUSA KAYU MANIS (Cinnamomum burmanii) TERHADAP PENGHAMBATAN KADAR IL-6 PADA TIKUS DIABETES STRAIN Sprague dawley
Abstract
Bacground : Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a group of metabolic disease characterized by hyperglycemia that occours due to insulin secretion abnormalities and is futrther exacerbated by the presence of oxidative stress and inflammation. The modeling of hyperglycemic animals using the induction of streptozoticin(STZ) dan nicotinamid (NA) that can cause inflammation and damage to pancreatic beta cells reduces the amount of secreted insulin. Cinnamon (cinnamomum burmanii) contains polyphenol compounds, in wich polyphenol compounds, in which polyphenol compounds have activity similar to insulin and are antioxidant and antiinflammatory.
Metode : The method of this research used 25 rats divided into 5 groups: group I as negative control (without intervention), group II as positive control (induced STZ dose 60mg/kgBB and NA dose 120 mg/kgBB), group III (Induced STZ+NA and administration of 0,09mg/200grBB dose glibenclamid), group IV(induced STZ+NA and cinnamon infusion dose 300mg/kgBB), ), group V(induced STZ+NA and cinnamon infusion dose 300mg/kgBB). The treatment after 3 days induced STZ and IL-6 levels measurementon days 6, 13 and 20. In this research using One way ANOVA test with (p= <0,05). The aim of this research was to find out whether the effect of cinnamon infusion reduced IL-6 levels in diabetic rats induced streptozoticin (STZ).
Results : This research showed that in the first examination before treatment was obtained (p= 0,782) and second week therapy (p=0,401) there was no significant difference whereas in the first week of therapy (p= 0,008) there was a significant difference.
Conclusion :This research show that the administration of cinnamon infusion (Cinnamomum burmanii) in diabetic rats of doses of 300mg/kgBB/day (0.000) and 150 (p=0,016) mg/kgBB/day for 14 days decreased IL-6
