PENGARUH KONSELING APOTEKER TERHADAP KADAR GULA DARAH PASIEN DIABETES MELLITUS TIPE 2 DI PUSKESMAS KASIHAN 1 BANTUL PERIODE OKTOBER - NOVEMBER 2016
Abstract
Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a disease that occurs when the body cannot produce insulin or if the body cannot use insulin effectively.DM can develop into a serious complication disease and can cause death if the management is not appropriate. Counseling to the diabetes patients can help the patients to understand the therapy itself so as to reduce the possible complications arises. The aim of this research is to knowing the effect of pharmacist counseling on blood sugar level of Diabetes Mellitus type 2 patients.
This research is included of research pre test, post test and control group. Patients are divided into 2 groups to compare the influence of given counseling group and the group that is not given counseling.Checking is done by using pretest and posttest in the form of measurement of blood sugar level. The sample that is use is 30 patients by using consecutive sampling technique. The data obtained were analyzed using t-test statistic.
This research shows if the counseling by pharmacists for 1 month has decreased significantly. The mean of blood glucose levels in patients given counseling were 199.80 mg / dL and after counseling 156.00 mg / dL. The result of statistical test of blood sugar level obtained p value <0, 05 is 0, 00 which mean there is significant difference. The mean of the result glucose levels in patients who were not given counseling increased 184,73 mg / dL and after 1 month234,47 mg / dL The result of statistic of blood glucose result of statistical test of blood sugar level obtained p value <0,05 is 0,00 which mean there is significant difference
The result of statistical test of comparison of mean of blood sugar when the patient given counseling and not given counseling 0,047 with p value <0, 05 is 0, 00 which mean there is significant difference.The conclusion of this research is counseling conducted by a pharmacist can improve controlled blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at Puskesmas Kasihan 1 Bantul.
