HUBUNGAN PERILAKU PENGELOLAAN MANDIRI DAN EFIKASI DIRI TERHADAP KADAR GLUKOSA DARAH PASIEN DIABETES TIPE 2 PESERTA PROLANIS BPJS
Abstract
Background: Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) is a chronic disease with high morbidity and mortality ratios due to the development of various complications, mostly related to cardiovascular system. BPJS Kesehatan establishes a program called Program Pengelolaan Penyakit Kronis (Prolanis) to improve knowledges, motivations, and qualities of diabetes management in order to increase the quality of life. Self-management and self-efficacy play an important role in glycemic control.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was undertaken in Klinik Pratama Nova Medika Klaten. The study used a consecutive sampling technique and included 40 respondents of Prolanis participants. Fasting plasma glucose (FPG) and 2-h plasma glucose (2-h PG) were measured in this study. Diabetes self-management and self-efficacy were measured using the Summary of Diabetes Self-Care Activities measure (SDSCA) and Diabetes Empowerment Scale-Short Form (DES-SF). Pearson analysis test is used to know the correlation between each variables.
Results: Diabetes self-management and self-efficacy has no significant correlation with fasting plasma glucose and 2-h plasma glucose. Their score trends are also the opposite of fasting plasma glucose and 2-h plasma glucose.
Conclusion: Prolanis may be continued by applying Diabetes Self-Management Support and Education (DSMS and DSME). Health provider should modify diabetes management support for each patients based on their personal responsibilities. A specific biomarker, such as HbA1c, is needed to evaluate glycemic control in patient with T2D.
